Barangay Consolacion of the town of Dalaguete in the province of Cebu always celebrates her annual feast every third Saturday of September. This is the day we remember our patroness, the Blessed Virgin of Consolation. From Her title, she is the bringer of our happiness.
We spend, borrow, sell, or even steal the last carabao in order to have the means to celebrate. Hehe! I know you know I'm kidding right??? Anyway, this year it's last September 17...
Fiestas are associated with food. As tradition has it, anyone who passes by or made themselves obvious that they wanted to have themselves invited to eat is welcomed with jovial countenances. Some even love the line: eat and run. I for one, love that line. Who doesn't? Unless you would like to stick around and burden the host with qualms of serving you further. It would be insensitive unless the host imposes upon you that you stay until he is satisfied by your presence.
This year, I have only my students as guests.
Here are some photos of the food we had. What do you think should I post? After all, I have emphasized that fiestas are synonymous with food consumption.
